During Week 3, Year 10 students were visited by Vietnam Veteran Vin and his wife Nancy, hearing their stories of the Vietnam War.

Over three learning sessions, Vin and Nancy provided incredible insight into the impact of the Vietnam War on families and veterans and why Australia was involved.

During this time, Vin shared many insightful stories about his time in Vietnam, including how he spent six weeks out on an operation, the many roles that he had as a soldier (his time as a machine gun operator, infantry and radio operator), and his experience of being conscripted due to the “Barrel of Death”, as they called it, in 1966.

Highlights for students included the many stories and pictures Vin shared, as well as four Year 10 students dressing up in the uniforms of soldiers' different roles in the military. Students found this opportunity to talk to Vietnam Veterans extremely interesting and insightful!
