Our Stage 5 and Year 11 Textiles students have showcased their creativity through submissions for this year’s Wool4School design competition.
Their brief was to design a unique outfit featuring pre-loved items transformed with wool design techniques for a specific end-user of their choice. They justified their design choices in terms of the wool materials and design features included, and explained the amazing properties of wool that made it suitable for their end-user.
Special congratulations to Ella Gerritsen of Year 9, who was one of five Student Draw winners across Australia to be recognised for their participation in the competition. Ella received some EMU wool slippers, a Daily Edited notebook, Woolmark company keyring and tote bag, and a Frank Green bottle for her efforts. She designed a dress perfect for her sister as a hairdresser, who has just been awarded with the gold medal in hairdressing at the Worldskills Nationals in Melbourne!
