We are excited to share the highlights of our recent Book Week events, in a week filled with literary exploration, creativity, and, most importantly, the love of books. Thanks to our dedicated teaching staff and the active participation of our students, it was a week to remember.

An Author's Insight: Matt Stanton's Visit

Book Week began on a high note as our Junior School welcomed author Matt Stanton. Matt shared his experiences as a writer, talked about what makes a good story, and mentioned a few of his personal favourite books. We appreciate Matt for taking the time to be a part of our Book Week.

Creative Costumes on Display

Our Junior School students showcased their creativity during the Book Week parade. They dressed up as their favourite book characters, bringing to life a diverse range of literary personas. The parade was a colourful representation of the various stories that captivate our young readers. This year our secondary students also spent the day in costume and acquitted themselves admirably (but without parading!).

Our Stage 5 Multimedia students did a wonderful job capturing the moments from Tuesday's Book Week Dress-Up Day. Their studio photography beautifully preserved the excitement and enthusiasm as students from across the school community donned their book-inspired costumes.

Author R.A. Spratt's Visit

As the week progressed, students in Years 3-6 had the privilege of a visit from author R.A. Spratt. She shared insights into her life as an author, the inspiration behind her writing, and even read a passage from one of her books. It was an engaging session that left our students inspired.

We think Book Week 2023 was a week dedicated to the joy of reading and storytelling. Our teaching staff worked diligently to create memorable experiences for our students. We look forward to building on this enthusiasm and continuing to nurture a love for books within the ICS community.
