Illawarra Christian School was well represented at the recent Australian MTB Interschools competition in Thredbo, with three students competing at the event.

Year 4 student Tom had a standout week in his first time participating in the competition, taking part in three separate events and recording some fantastic results.

He began the week placing 29th out of 55 in the Fox Flow Motion Cup, which was followed by an incredible fourth-placed finish in the Osprey X-Country Race the next day. Tom missed out on a podium finish by just half a bike length, as he finished with the same time as third place. He rounded out his week, competing in the Rockshox Pump Track Qualifying, finishing 28th out of 38 riders, just missing out on finals qualification by a few places.

Meanwhile, brothers Alistair and Tristan also attended the competition. Alistair, in Year 10, competed in four events across the days, battling it out in the competitive Division 2 Boys category.

Tristan, in Year 8, was registered to compete in various events, but after suffering a broken arm, he decided to help out in the marshalling area throughout the competition – a great display of service!

Well done to all three boys for their participation and involvement in the competition.
