Last weekend, three teams from our Year 11 and 12 Chemistry classes competed in the NSW Titration Competition at University of Wollongong with about 30 other teams from various schools in the Illawarra.

Our teams trained for six weeks in the lead-up to the competition at lunch, before school and during study periods. Participation was completely voluntary and these students showed commitment and determination to develop their analytical chemistry skills.

Whilst we didn't place in the top 3, we had a lot of fun and it was a great experience to see the University laboratory from the inside. Congratulations to one of the teams from Smiths Hill High who achieved a result that was the closest to the true value that the lead chemist has seen in her time running the competition, and to Wollondilly Anglican College who placed second!
