Last week, 21 Junior School students travelled to the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatics Centre to represent Illawarra Christian School at the CSSA Primary State Swimming Meet.
Reflecting on the evening of competition, Primary School Sports Coordinator Mrs Melissa Weeks reflected on the event:
It was a wonderful event and a warm encouraging and supportive environment.
It was exciting to swim in such a special pool, knowing that even Olympians swim in that pool too!
Each student swam outstandingly, and many students swam PBs.
Year 6 student Lexi Forrester was the standout performer, qualifying for the NSWCIS Swimming Championships later in March with a second-place finish in the 12 years 50m freestyle event.
Sophie Weeks also recorded a notable result, finishing fourth in the junior girls individual medley.
Well done to all our students who attended and participated!
