The addition of road closures and thousands of tourists descending on Wollongong for the UCI Cycling Championships wasn't enough to dampen the enthusiasm of the ICS community for our first Twilight Fete and Open Day since 2019.

The school was buzzing last Saturday as locals, students, past students, and their families and friends descended on our campus to enjoy together our first Twilight Fete in three years. The weather held out for us and the vibe was warm and inviting for the whole evening.

On the main stage, we were treated to performances from our many talented school musicians and singers, as well as a sneak peek of the delights awaiting those who manage to nab a ticket to the upcoming school musical, The Little Mermaid. A particular hit on the afternoon was our extensive storyboard display chronicling highlights of the past 40 years of ICS life, along with a display of memorabilia spanning the four decades the school has been operating.

As always, the hot food, hot donuts, cakes and coffee were a hit with all - and perhaps nobody worked harder on the night than the operators of the fairy floss stall, with a line that stretched the length of the COLA for the whole four hours of the Fete!

As a fundraising opportunity, we were thrilled with the success of the evening - approximately $20K raised for the ICS Committee, who will go on to use those funds to upgrade and improve various areas of the school. But even more significantly, we are so pleased that the school community was provided with an opportunity to simply enjoy each other's company, and to appreciate so much of what makes our school thrive.

Thank you for time, efforts and enthusiasm in contributing to such a great day.
